What we teach at Stellar Academy is not much different than what is taught at other private and public elementary schools. We follow the Ontario Curriculum. We focus on mastery of reading, writing and arithmetic skills to provide a solid foundation for our children’s future academic successes.

How we teach and integrate the curriculum is unique.

Exhibitions, presentations, experimentation, interactive learning and problem solving through multiple intelligences set the Stellar Academy experience apart. Our teaching philosophy provides a rich, academic and global experience. Lessons are catered to students’ strengths, interests and needs and extend beyond the recall of facts and provincial testing.

With enthusiasm, Stellar Academy teachers create and facilitate lessons for children to learn and communicate their knowledge and skills through eight different intelligences:

« Linguistic
« Logical-Mathematical
« Interpersonal
« Intrapersonal
« Bodily-Kinesthetic
« Musical
« Naturalist
« Spatial

At Stellar Academy we believe that students should be challenged enough to reach their unique potential. As a result, a child can work with older children in one subject and/or with younger children in another, and still have social interaction with children his or her own age. Rather than following ‘one prescription’ to fit all, Stellar Academy students have individual education plans for success that solve the problem of skipping and retaining children who need something more or less than others of the same chronological age.

Our mandate is for students to attain the inner discipline, intrinsic motivation and control necessary to become intelligent, responsible, ethical and independent learners that will work hard to achieve greatness, care to make a difference and leave their unique mark on the world.

"As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world as in being able to remake ourselves."

Mohandas Gandhi
